About the position

The Equine Training and Breed Manager position at our non-profit horse ranch involves overseeing the care and training of 10-12 horses while coordinating ranch management tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a passion for horses, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to achieve ranch objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a training and conditioning plan for every horse under care.
  • Assist and assign staff to clean and maintain stalls, barns, and paddocks.
  • Assist with general ranch upkeep (fencing, yard work, etc.).
  • Monitor the health and well-being of horses, reporting any issues to management.
  • Support the breeding program by working directly with CSU Equine Repro lab, trailering horses to appointments and handling our ranch stallion for collection and shipping.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Passion for working with horses and animals.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the ranch.
  • Previous experience with horses or on a farm.
  • Basic knowledge of horse care and behavior.
  • Familiarity with farm equipment and tools.
