About the position

The Equipment Branch Operation Manager is responsible for overseeing local market equipment operations for assigned agent partners. This role involves driving timely releases, revenue forecasting, billings, collections, and assisting Area Management in reporting. The manager ensures compliance with project requirements and safety standards while developing relationships with agent partners and coordinating support for startups and warranty processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall operational performance of assigned agent partners.
  • Align goals and objectives with Area and HQ priorities including post-sales metrics, backlog growth, EBIT, cash flow, and productivity improvements.
  • Follow up on customer satisfaction issues and drive resolution, demonstrating leadership in achieving customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and build relationships with agents, contractors, customers, consultants, and vendors.
  • Identify training and development needs of assigned agents and work with leadership to address any gaps.
  • Ensure projects are properly turned over to the local service team and assist agents with coordination on joint projects.
  • Act as the first level of escalation for issues related to equipment orders, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on equipment, assisting in the interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Act as a liaison between the factory and agent team, driving the escalation process for agents.
  • Communicate process problems, warranty trends, and delivery issues to corporate leadership.
  • Monitor Equipment Slippage for all projects, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with agents to ensure proper coordination of post-shipment services including start-up initiation and problem resolution.
  • Provide technical support and limited estimating support to agents during project design or proposal phases.
  • Participate in pre-bid and pre-book reviews as per defined thresholds.
  • Drive asset management including credit and legal holds, cost control, billings, collections, and payables.
  • Manage backlog release date coordination with factories and local market escalations for post-sale lead time improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Safety Program and legal requirements for employees and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible operations management experience in the Building Construction Industry.
  • Five or more years of direct project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team successfully.
  • High-level competence in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to travel based on geographical locations of assigned teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and Visio; Adobe Writer; and basic Windows operating system.
  • AutoCAD experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large and diverse number of projects simultaneously.
