About the position
The Equipment Maintenance Helper position at Burrtec involves performing inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of equipment at the Material Recovery Facility. The role supports the Equipment Maintenance team and requires adherence to safety practices while working on various equipment and facility maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of Material Recovery Facility equipment including balers, conveyors, screens, and magnets.
- Assist and support the Equipment Maintenance team and activities.
- Perform repair and maintenance of facility buildings and grounds.
- Use hand tools and other equipment for maintenance activities.
- Utilize welder, torch, and grinder in job performance.
- Document work performed on Fleetmate work orders accurately and timely.
- Perform other repairs and duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- 1 year of previous equipment maintenance and repair experience is required.
- Vocational school and/or training in equipment maintenance and repair is desired.
- Previous experience in the use of hand and small power tools/equipment is necessary.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good mechanical and electrical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good judgment and organizational skills to ensure a safe and organized work area.
