About the position

The Equipment Maintenance Manager is responsible for directing the maintenance programs and processes at the assigned plant to ensure efficient production. This role involves overseeing maintenance procedures, managing staff, and ensuring that all machinery operates at optimal standards. The manager will also coordinate with other management staff to enhance preventative maintenance and new equipment installation, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Directs the maintenance programs and processes of the assigned plant to ensure timely and effective production.
• Coordinates with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation.
• Oversees facilities design and inspection, equipment repair and installation.
• Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
• Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
• Oversees, manages, and directs all maintenance procedures and operations.
• Ensures all machinery is up to working standards.
• Assesses current maintenance work processes to optimize efficiency.
• Uses data analysis to help prepare for and prevent future problems.
• Creates and implements measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs.
• Troubleshoots problem areas and creates a clear plan of action for fixing necessary parts.
• Oversees repairs and trains new employees in maintenance work processes and procedures.
• Creates a work environment with safety as a high priority.
• Performs evaluations of employees to ensure quality of work.
• Records and tracks daily progress/error reports.
• Maintains vendor relationships and orders new materials as needed.
• Creates and adheres to maintenance budgets.
• Enforces all health and safety rules and regulations according to state/federal laws and company protocol.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, administration, or facility management.
• Bilingual English-Spanish.
• 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing maintenance management role.
• Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
• Experience in planning maintenance operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
• Competent in problem solving, team building, planning, and decision making.
