About the position

Heritage Companies is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our team at Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces, NM. This full-time hourly position offers a competitive wage ranging from $15.00 to $17.00, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. The Facilities Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks to maintain, repair, construct, and remodel facilities and equipment. This includes working with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, light equipment operation, carpentry, masonry, and painting. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of the Facilities Manager/Supervisor and will be expected to maintain a high level of positivity and professionalism while interacting with guests, team members, and external partners. Responsibilities include responding to work orders, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that all work activities conform to safety, sanitation, and health regulations. The technician will also conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify unsafe or malfunctioning conditions. In addition to general maintenance tasks, the Facilities Technician may be required to maintain pools, spas, and hot tubs, and will be expected to perform repairs on various structures such as floors, sinks, showers, walls, windows, carpets, roofs, locks, and drains. This role may also involve working in various conditions, including outdoors, indoors, and in confined spaces, and may require lifting and carrying equipment and materials up to 50 pounds. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including the possibility of long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of semi-skilled tasks to maintain, repair, construct, and remodel facilities and equipment.
  • Work under the direction of the Facilities Manager/Supervisor.
  • Maintain a high level of positivity and professionalism with guests, team members, and external partners.
  • Respond to work orders and perform routine facilities maintenance.
  • Maintain facility equipment as indicated by the preventative maintenance plan.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
  • Conduct regular building and facilities general maintenance including basic electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, tile, and landscaping.
  • Repair and treat structures such as floors, sinks, showers, walls, windows, carpets, roofs, locks, and drains.
  • Ensure that all work activities conform to all safety, sanitation, and health regulations and policies.
  • Maintain pools, spas, and hot tubs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the functions of this position.

Requirements

  • 1 year of facilities maintenance or construction experience required.
  • Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Certified Pool Operator certification is required.
  • OSHA Forklift or Scissor Lift certification may be required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a current, unrestricted driver's license and be able to maintain company group insurance.
