About the position

The Equipment Maintenance position at Carlisle involves performing minor repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance on material handling equipment. The technician will work independently to troubleshoot issues, maintain safety standards, and ensure equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• Provide recommendations to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment.
• Efficiently prioritize repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Provide improvements required to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Ensure that the department is appropriately stocked with parts and tools needed to perform their job.
• Undertake actions such as lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes on equipment for preventive maintenance purposes.
• Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs.
• Modify and test equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability.
• Update and review daily maintenance logs.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures strictly.

Requirements

• 2 - 3 years of technical maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
• High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED).
• Understanding of safety guidelines.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical reference manuals.
• Understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work well independently.
