Responsibilities

  • Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
  • Utilize technical support resources for troubleshooting and identifying parts needed for repair.
  • Conduct Unit Condition Inspections and Reports.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
  • Adhere to Altec Safety practices and procedures in all tasks.
  • Advise supervisors of situations that may impact customer relationships.
  • Provide accurate information on all required documents.
  • Demonstrate Altec Company Values in daily work activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Physical ability to move objects and tools weighing up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
  • High level of dexterity required for mechanical tasks.
  • Basic tools as per Altec tool policy.
  • Ability to drive motor vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Advocate for safety in all tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous mechanic and/or equipment service experience.
  • Education in mechanics, electrical or hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, or construction equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers, or tractors.
  • Experience with military heavy equipment or aircraft and aerospace ground support equipment.
