About the position

The Equipment Operations Coordinator at JE Dunn is responsible for supporting equipment operations within the equipment rental business. This role involves managing data entry transactions, organizing goods and services, handling billings, and ensuring efficient operations. The coordinator will interact with both internal and external customers, manage incoming equipment orders, and maintain fleet information, all while adhering to the company's strategic vision and values.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine duties and transactions in purchasing, fleet/inventory counter operations, billing, and distribution in support of equipment rental and construction supply business.
  • Utilize ERP software for accurate data entry related to rental and material transactions.
  • Respond timely to phone calls and emails from customers and vendors regarding equipment and material transactions.
  • Provide pricing, availability, and specification details to customers and vendors.
  • Manage shipping, receiving, and storage of fleet and inventory materials as needed.
  • Organize and consolidate incoming and outgoing equipment and inventory loads, validating transfer tickets for accuracy.
  • Guide drivers on proper storage locations for equipment and inventory items based on warehouse organization knowledge.
  • Participate in safety meetings and demonstrate understanding of the equipment rental business through operational reports.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in drafting Small Win communications.
  • Write and follow up on Purchase Orders for inventory, equipment, and job material needs through the ERP system.
  • Conduct research on equipment and inventory as directed and update logistics catalog.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 2+ years of rental, warehouse, or construction materials experience (Preferred)
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely in a timely manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to learn operating systems for data entry.
  • Knowledge of common construction materials and equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills through positive interactions with customers.
  • Basic understanding of internal equipment management tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of logistics operations including warehouse organization and fulfillment processes.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team.
