About the position

The Equipment Operations Coordinator at JE Dunn will play a crucial role in supporting equipment operations within the company. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including creating and reviewing data entry transactions, organizing and distributing goods and services, and managing billing processes. The Equipment Operations Coordinator will utilize data to enhance efficiency in the equipment rental business, ensuring that all activities align with the company's strategy, vision, and values. In this role, the coordinator will handle internal and external customer transactions related to incoming equipment and material orders, fleet information, and work orders. The position requires a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness, as the coordinator will be responsible for performing routine duties in purchasing, fleet/inventory counter operations, and distribution. The successful candidate will also engage with customers and vendors, providing them with essential information regarding pricing, availability, and specifications of inventory and equipment. The Equipment Operations Coordinator will also participate in safety meetings, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and assist in drafting communications related to operational successes. This role is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and have a foundational understanding of the equipment rental business. The position offers a pathway to advance to a Senior Equipment Coordinator role, reflecting the potential for career growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine duties and transactions in purchasing, fleet/inventory counter operations, billing, and distribution in support of equipment rental and construction supply business.
  • Perform accurate data entry utilizing ERP software for rental and material transactions.
  • Provide timely responses via phone calls and emails from internal and external customers and vendors for routine information related primarily to equipment and material transactions.
  • Provide customers and vendors with pricing, availability, and specification details relating to inventory and equipment questions.
  • Organize and consolidate incoming and outgoing equipment and inventory loads and validate transfer tickets to ensure accurate transactions.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled safety meetings.
  • Demonstrate fundamental understanding of the equipment rental business by utilizing key operational reports.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement plan by identifying opportunities in the current process and voicing potential improvements.
  • Write Purchase Orders as directed for inventory, equipment, and job material needs through the company ERP system.
  • Conduct research on equipment and inventory as directed and update information in logistics catalog.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 2+ years rental, warehouse or construction materials experience (Preferred)
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to learn the operating systems for data entry
  • Ability to identify common construction materials and equipment
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service through positive interaction with customers
  • Basic understanding of internal equipment management tools
  • Thorough knowledge of logistics operations including warehouse organization, storage of goods, traffic flow and the fulfillment process from start to finish
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
