About the position

The Equipment Operator I position at Burns & McDonnell involves operating cranes to move heavy equipment on construction sites. The role requires adherence to safety regulations and operational planning for lifts, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate various construction cranes to move heavy equipment and materials.
• Plan operational lifts and inspect equipment before use.
• Perform preventative maintenance on cranes and ensure safety during operations.
• Follow signal directions from a signaler/spotter during equipment operations.
• Assess the area of operations for safety issues and plan equipment operations accordingly.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in operating cranes.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to inspect equipment.
• Ability to illustrate load planning and lift planning.
• Current NCCCO certification is required.
• Knowledge of proper hand signals for crane operation.
• Willingness to assist in other duties when not operating a crane.
• Ability to follow all instructed safety regulations and arrive on time for work.
