About the position
Border States Paving, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator for the 2024 season, with a focus on operating and maintaining heavy equipment such as loaders, rollers, pavers, and screeds. This position requires extensive travel throughout North Dakota and South Dakota during the summer season, approximately from April to November. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective communication, both verbal and written, and will need to be self-motivated and a team player with strong interpersonal skills. Maintaining positive customer relations and demonstrating courtesy and respect towards others is essential in this role. Operators will be tasked with troubleshooting and problem-solving various situations, including material quality and equipment operation or repair issues. They will also monitor production problems and discuss them with co-workers and managers or supervisors. Compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, and other safety and environmental regulations is a critical aspect of this position. The role offers excellent wages ranging from $30.60 to $32.65 per hour, along with a $20.65 per hour fringe benefit and a $350 weekly per diem to cover housing expenses. Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in the construction field is helpful.
- Ability to pass a urine drug test.
