About the position

The Equipment Operator position at Oldcastle APG involves operating plant machinery to produce high-quality outdoor living products while adhering to safety regulations. Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Observe dryer operation and perform adjustments to maintain set parameters
• Fill material bins as needed to meet daily production schedules
• Receive bulk truckloads of aggregates from outside carriers
• Operate a front end loader to fill bulk material silos
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Startup machinery for daily production
• Ensure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned areas
• Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• One to six months of related experience in trades specific to job requirements
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
• Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
• High level of accuracy in work assignments
• Demonstrated ability to operate a front-end loader
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
