About the position

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various heavy equipment used in the construction and maintenance of large site jobs. This role requires adherence to safety procedures and protocols while performing routine inspections and maintenance on equipment. The operator will also assist lower-level employees and report any issues to supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in site construction and preparation.
• Follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Report problems to the foreman, supervisor, or site safety supervisor.
• Adhere to daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job training classes.
• Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment; clean equipment.
• Assist lower-level employees with performing assigned duties and tasks as required.

Requirements

• Valid Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Training license (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
• Valid state driver's license with Class A CDL endorsement with no active violations within the previous 3 years (preferred).
• Knowledge of materials, methods, equipment, and tools involved in remediation services.
• Understanding of business principles and practices.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Excellent oral communication skills.

• HAZWOPER certification preferred.
