About the position

AAF International is seeking an Industrial Air Quality (IAQ) Equipment Sales & Applications Engineer for North America. This role is pivotal as it serves as the key technical expert on AAF products and their applications, ensuring that products are selected correctly to meet the technical requirements of each opportunity. The engineer will provide technical support and education to sales channel partners and end users regarding AAF International products, applications, and troubleshooting. The position also involves maintaining accurate and up-to-date product price sheets and quotation templates, supporting sales in timely quotation and order acceptance reviews, and ensuring that bids and orders are technically correct while meeting the sales price and gross margin targets set for the business. The engineer will conduct both wet and dry product line training, educating internal and external sales teams, sales channel partners, OEMs, and end users on current industry codes and standards related to environmental products. They will also provide application and product support and training to North American customers as needed. In addition, the role includes providing information on product applications and technical assistance as required by customers, conducting system/product calculations to support and check technical proposals, and troubleshooting problems with AAF equipment, including field site inspections as necessary. Administrative duties will include ensuring that intercompany and direct quotations and sales are recorded accurately and timely in Salesforce, maintaining a regional database for customer references, and collaborating with Sales, Engineering, and Design teams to identify opportunities for product improvement and standardization. The position requires travel throughout North America and globally as required, approximately 20-30% of the time, and may include additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct wet and dry product line training for internal and external sales teams, sales channel partners, OEMs, and end users.
  • Provide application and product support and training to North American customers as needed.
  • Provide information on product application and technical assistance as required by customers.
  • Conduct system/product calculations for supporting and checking technical proposals for required application.
  • Provide timely product quotation support and order acceptance review, supporting outside sales team and sales channel partners.
  • Troubleshoot problems with AAF equipment, including field site inspections as needed.
  • Oversee in-field product startup and customer training sessions as needed.
  • Ensure product price sheets and quotation templates are accurate and up to date.
  • Support development of technical/applications information for marketing materials and product launch campaigns.
  • Participate in regional air pollution control industry consortiums, councils, and groups as directed by EP business manager.
  • Ensure intercompany and direct quotations and sales are recorded accurately and timely in Salesforce.
  • Maintain regional database for customer references.
  • Work with Sales, Engineering, and Design teams to identify opportunities to improve products and adjust technical specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in industrial air cleaning and application of airflow in equipment design desirable.
  • Experience in product development and customer/design engineering preferred.
  • Familiarity with particulate and gaseous air pollution control technology preferred.
  • Understanding and application of specific industry codes and standards with respect to product design desirable.
  • Experience working in technical applications (HVAC, gas turbine, etc.); air pollution control industry a plus but not required.
  • Experience performing training/education of others around technical subjects desirable.
  • Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Effective problem-solving, quantitative and business analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to share skills and knowledge with others.
  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting.
