About the position
The Equipment Service Co-op/Intern position at Honda for Fall 2024 offers college students hands-on, project-based experience in various departments. This role is designed for students enrolled in relevant degree programs, providing opportunities to engage in meaningful projects that contribute to Honda's operations. Interns will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining practical skills in maintenance and repair while participating in professional development events.
Responsibilities
- Engage in hands-on projects relevant to department needs.
- Assist with preventative maintenance work orders and maintenance repair tasks.
- Support troubleshooting and repair of equipment failures in various departments.
- Participate in safety procedures and quality policies implementation.
- Work alongside a maintenance technician to learn and apply skills in real-world scenarios.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Understanding of industrial safety and industrial math.
- Demonstrated positive attitude and proactive approach to equipment maintenance.
- Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
- Must be enrolled in an associate degree or certificate program related to Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or Welding.
Nice-to-haves
- PLC programming skills.
- Knowledge of Motor Controls and Industrial system networking.
- Familiarity with Servo systems (Robotics).
- Experience with AutoCAD and Machine design.
- Welding skills (MIG, TIG, Stick) for welding assignments.
