About the position

The Senior Equipment Specialist at COLSA Corporation plays a critical role in advising and supporting maintenance technicians and senior leaders in troubleshooting and resolving complex equipment issues related to aircraft systems. This position involves conducting research, analysis, and providing technical guidance to ensure the operational effectiveness of assigned weapon systems and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise technicians on methods of resolving unusual troubleshooting problems and repairing difficult system malfunctions.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to senior leaders and maintenance technicians for the assigned weapon system and associated equipment.
  • Support program requirements including D043, CAV AF, Fedmall, JEDMICS, ETIMS, and Haystack to identify problem areas on assigned systems.
  • Assist in recommending and developing executable programs for the operation and evaluation of assigned systems.
  • Support management actions to maintain the combat effectiveness of assigned aircraft and equipment.
  • Conduct studies and analysis of technical problems affecting assigned equipment from various sources.
  • Support program IPTs involving engineering, program management, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in special research projects as assigned by Government equipment specialists and engineers.
  • Support trial installations, kit proofs, and technical data verification, reporting findings and making recommendations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to ensure compatibility of systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • MA/MS degree with twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, five (5) years in the DoD -OR- BA/BS degree with fifteen (15) years of experience, five (5) years in the DoD -OR- HS Diploma with twenty (20) years of directly related experience, eight (8) years in the DoD.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, and web access applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior aircraft maintenance experience in Structural Repair.
