About the position

The Equipment Specialist will serve in the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Aviation Division of NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, focusing on technical logistics functions related to weapon systems and equipment used on FMS aircraft. The role involves technical analysis, documentation review, and advising on logistics support solutions to enhance system readiness and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical logistics functions including provisioning and configuration control.
• Establish and maintain data related to weapon systems and support/test equipment.
• Serve as the technical representative for Integrated Logistics Support Management Team (ILSMT) meetings.
• Provide technical advice on FMS weapon systems provisioning and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
• Ensure quality and consistency of technical and engineering information in NAVSUP databases.
• Review life cycle costs associated with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements to develop alternative logistics support solutions.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Experience performing technical analysis on complex problems related to logistics support of weapons systems.
• Ability to review documentation for completeness and accuracy, and determine interchangeability and substitutability relationships.
• Experience analyzing life cycle costs associated with ILS and developing logistics support solutions.
