About the position

The Equipment Technician at JE Dunn will provide essential support for the Blue Hat Crane and Equipment operations, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and mobilization of equipment according to manufacturers' specifications. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and involves both routine and non-routine tasks. The technician will work closely with internal and external partners to troubleshoot issues and maintain high standards of service.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for one or more equipment lines of the Blue Hat rental fleet.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on equipment as per manufacturers' specifications.
  • Lead on-site assembly/disassembly activities on selected specialty equipment lines.
  • Instruct customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns on site or over the phone with Field Operations using effective communication skills.
  • Document maintenance, repairs, and inspections accurately per company processes.
  • Communicate in a timely manner with internal and external business partners regarding maintenance-related questions.
  • Order parts for equipment repair utilizing the internal process and determine correct parts using manufacturers' specifications.
  • Receive, organize, store, and distribute equipment, parts, and supplies as needed.
  • Coordinate and organize efficient storage of the Blue Hat fleet.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent (Required)
  • 2+ years of equipment operation, maintenance, or repair experience (Preferred)
  • Apprentice program or Vocational/Technical degree with equipment repair emphasis (Preferred)
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to learn the internal maintenance and tracking system for accurate documentation
  • Ability to identify common construction materials and equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills through positive interaction with customers
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance operations
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team.
