About the position

The Equity Analyst position within Contra Costa County's Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice (ORESJ) is a permanent full-time role focused on promoting racial equity and social justice throughout the county. The analyst will engage in policy analysis and development, ensuring alignment with the county's equity goals, while collaborating with various departments to address systemic disparities. This role is pivotal in shaping the direction of ORESJ and driving initiatives that foster inclusivity and social change.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing policies and budgets to ensure alignment with racial equity and social justice goals.
  • Keeping informed of changing federal and state laws affecting the county's budget and operations.
  • Evaluating the impact of countywide policies on racial justice outcomes and recommending revisions.
  • Reviewing departmental budgets and evaluating requests for adjustments.
  • Prioritizing and organizing multiple assignments and projects effectively.
  • Coordinating project teams across programs, divisions, and agencies.
  • Participating in community engagement activities and providing data-driven insights.
  • Providing administrative and technical support to the Equity Committee and advisory groups.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of research or analysis experience in racial equity, social justice, civil rights, or DEI initiatives.
  • Experience in policy analysis and development with a focus on equity and social justice.
  • Deep knowledge of local government or program administration, including budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective reporting and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with various stakeholders.
