About the position

The Equity, Belonging, and Engagement Manager (EBE Manager) at Center Theatre Group plays a crucial role in implementing and supporting initiatives that foster strong relationships with audiences, staff, and artists. This position is responsible for managing engagement programs, services, and events that align with the organization's mission and community impact. The EBE Manager will oversee both audience engagement activities and internal events for staff belonging, ensuring that all initiatives reflect the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Implement CTG's engagement vision alongside the Director of Equity, Belonging, and Engagement.
  • Serve as project manager for audience engagement activities, including pre- and post-show engagements and community events.
  • Communicate regularly with guests, teaching artists, moderators, and internal team leads.
  • Maintain and reconcile budgets for assigned artistic programs in coordination with the EBE department.
  • Provide updates and progress reports to EBE and Executive staff regarding events and projects.
  • Collaborate with other CTG departments to meet logistical needs of projects.
  • Attend performances and events as needed to represent the department.
  • Manage internal initiatives including staff trainings and workshops in collaboration with the Executive Programs Manager.
  • Develop long-range strategic goals for assigned programs and establish measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee the development of program content and manage relationships with program partners.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement and relations.
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with budgeting processes and financial oversight.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in theatrical administration and producing.
  • Knowledge of the professional theater landscape, including new work and contemporary performance.
