About the position

As an Equity Research Analyst in Biotechnology at Barclays, you will analyze industry trends and company financials, preparing comprehensive research reports under the guidance of the Senior Analyst. This role involves engaging with clients and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and contribute to investment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze market, sector, corporate, and economic data to develop investment theses for your coverage universe.
• Produce research reports ranging from individual company notes to long-term thematic analyses.
• Present research findings to clients through various channels including face-to-face meetings and written communications.
• Engage with Markets, Client Strategy, and other stakeholders to promote your research internally and externally.
• Provide insights to internal clients to help them navigate financial markets and associated risks.
• Collaborate with compliance and supervisory analysts to ensure research is compliant and effectively delivered.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and PhD or MD required.
• Corporate strategy experience in healthcare is required.
• Relevant experience in sell-side equity research is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of equity research content and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Good financial experience including financial modeling and financial statement analysis.

Nice-to-haves

• CFA Level 1 is highly preferred.
• FINRA licensing (SIE, S63, S86, S87) is required, with sponsorship available for unregistered candidates.

Benefits

• Competitive salary range of $125,000 to $175,000 based on experience and qualifications.
