About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Equity Research Assistant - Healthcare Services to join our Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) team in New York. In this role, you will partner closely with the Senior Analyst covering the Healthcare Services sector. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting fundamental equity research to provide differentiated industry and stock-specific content. This involves building and maintaining financial estimates, managing financial databases, and writing comprehensive reports on companies under coverage as well as key industry themes. You will be expected to develop expertise on companies within the Healthcare Services sector, write research reports on significant company updates and industry trends, and create and update financial models and databases. Additionally, you will attend company and industry events to cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts. Effective communication of team views on covered companies to both internal and external constituents will be crucial. You will need to exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements of the role. Collaboration with peers, colleagues, and managers will be essential to resolve issues and achieve goals. This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check, and ongoing regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise on companies in the Healthcare Services sector
• Write research reports on key company updates and industry themes
• Create and update financial models and databases
• Attend company and industry events; cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts
• Communicate team views on covered companies with internal and external constituents
• Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Requirements

• 6+ months of Securities Investment research, financial services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• BS/BA or higher
• Direct experience within the industry or equity research industry specific sector - Healthcare Services
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
• Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis
• Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry
• Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application
• Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
