About the position

The Equity Research Associate for Banks at Raymond James Financial, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Equity Analyst by conducting industry and company research. This position involves collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, writing investment-related reports, and maintaining financial models. The associate will help identify new investment opportunities and support business generation activities, all while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise on industry and related companies to assess the relevance of news and data.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of macroeconomic variables impacting the assigned industry.
  • Maintain databases and spreadsheets related to the industry and companies.
  • Develop financial models for revenue and income forecasts, cash flow analysis, and quarterly projections.
  • Prepare internal and external reports and presentations to communicate research findings and investment ideas.
  • Collaborate with Senior Research Analysts on specific research projects and studies.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in a business-related or data analytics field.
  • Demonstrated interest in the financial markets or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of advanced concepts and practices in Equity Research.
  • Understanding of banking, finance, and securities industry operations.
  • Proficiency in financial markets and products.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills for corporate financial projections and equity valuation metrics.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Data analytics and coding skills are strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • FINRA Series 86/87 licenses or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
  • FINRA Series 63 may be required depending on domicile.
