About the position

The Equity Research Associate in Energy: E&P at Raymond James Financial, Inc. is responsible for supporting the Equity Analyst by conducting industry and company research. This role involves collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, writing investment-related reports, and maintaining financial models. The associate will help identify new investment ideas and support business generation in targeted industry groups, requiring a detail-oriented and client-service-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise on industry and related companies to assess the relevance of news and other data.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of macroeconomic variables impacting the assigned industry.
• Maintain databases and spreadsheets pertaining to their industry and related companies.
• Develop financial models for revenue and income forecasts, cash flow analysis, balance sheet, and quarterly projections.
• Prepare internal and external written reports and presentations to communicate research findings, news events, and investment ideas resulting from security analyses.
• Work with Senior Research Analysts in defining and documenting objectives and approaches for specific research projects and studies.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in business-related or data analytics field.
• Demonstrated interest in the financial markets.
• Knowledge of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of Equity Research.
• Understanding of principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.
• Proficiency in financial markets and products.

• Data analytics/Coding skills strongly preferred.
