The Equity Research Associate - Energy position at Jefferies & Company, Inc. involves providing associate-level coverage of various energy stocks, including exploration and production, refining, and oilfield services. The role requires building and maintaining detailed company models, writing reports, and communicating with clients and company investor relations teams.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for associate-level coverage of an array of energy stocks
• Build and maintain detailed company models and databases
• Work on recurring energy reports
• Stay on top of company news, track filings, listen to conference calls
• Write first look notes, contribute to longer thematic reports, and company initiations
• Field questions and communicate with sales and/or clients
• Maintain relationships with company IR teams.

Requirements

• 1-3 years experience covering alternative energy, specifically solar and batteries
• Experienced in FactSet and/or Bloomberg; knowledge of EIA, IEA, and other databases
• Advanced Excel modeling and writing skills
• Strong knowledge of accounting, corporate finance and energy-specific terminology/concepts
• Bachelor's/University degree
• CFA or progression towards CFA preferred
• FINRA Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 highly preferred (required within 5 months of hire)
