About the position

The Equity Research Associate for Financial Institutions Group (FIG) will be responsible for publishing proprietary equity research focused on the banking sector. This role involves conducting in-depth industry assessments, providing stock recommendations, and facilitating corporate access for institutional clients. The associate will work closely with senior analysts and engage with C-suite executives to enhance client relationships and leverage research insights.

Responsibilities

• Creating and publishing proprietary equity research content with stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) for institutional clients.
• Conducting due diligence and providing industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions.
• Initiating C-suite corporate access resources for institutional equity clients, including non-deal roadshows and conferences.
• Conducting independent industry assessments and company-specific research reports.
• Building financial models at the industry and company level, including market forecasts and cash flow analyses.
• Formulating investment ideas and writing draft research commentary.
• Maintaining active dialogue with representatives of covered companies and institutional buy-side clients.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree
• Licenses Required: SIE, Series 7, Series 63, Series 87, and either Series 86 or a FINRA waiver for CFA II completion.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience or academic study beyond BA/BS.
• Mastery of financial and accounting concepts for creating in-depth financial models.
• Advanced written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and sales skills.
