Join the Mizuho team as an Equity Research Associate in Healthcare Services: Technology and Distribution! The candidate will support the New York-based Senior Analyst covering US Healthcare Services: Technology and Distribution Companies at Mizuho Securities. This role is pivotal in gathering and analyzing industry information, financial modeling, and writing comprehensive reports on the Healthcare sector and on companies under coverage. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate investment ideas and industry information effectively to both the internal sales team and external investors. Key responsibilities include building dynamic industry models that consist of integrated Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements. The candidate will also be responsible for writing research reports, which include company initiations, industry thought pieces, and earnings recaps. Sourcing alternative data sets and simplifying and summarizing relevant industry and company information for inclusion in research reports is another critical aspect of this role. Additionally, the candidate will conduct proprietary research to evaluate the competitive landscape and analyze industry and company news, while also creating and maintaining relationships with industry contacts. The role will also involve assisting the senior analyst in preparing for marketing events and conferences. Candidates should be highly motivated professionals with a thirst for knowledge and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills using Excel are essential, along with the ability to write clearly and concisely. Effective oral communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills are also crucial. The candidate should be able to function independently while maintaining a collegial and collaborative approach to working with other team members. Ideally, candidates will have 1-5 years of sell-side or buyside equity research experience, with prior direct experience in the Healthcare sector being a plus. While the ideal candidate is based in New York, other locations will be considered as well.
