About the position

Join the Mizuho team as an Equity Research Associate in Healthcare Services: Technology and Distribution! The candidate will support the New York-based Senior Analyst covering US Healthcare Services: Technology and Distribution Companies at Mizuho Securities. This role is pivotal in gathering and analyzing industry information, performing financial modeling, and writing comprehensive reports on the Healthcare sector and the companies under coverage. The successful candidate will be expected to effectively communicate investment ideas and industry insights to both the internal sales team and external investors, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed and equipped with the necessary data to make strategic decisions. Key responsibilities include building dynamic industry models that integrate Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements. The candidate will also be responsible for writing detailed research reports, which may include company initiations, industry thought pieces, and earnings recaps. Sourcing alternative data sets will be crucial, as will the ability to simplify and summarize relevant industry and company information for inclusion in these reports. Additionally, the role involves conducting proprietary research to evaluate the competitive landscape and analyze industry and company news, which will be essential for maintaining the accuracy and relevance of the research outputs. Creating and maintaining relationships with industry contacts is another important aspect of this position, as it will facilitate the gathering of insights and data that can enhance the quality of the research. The candidate will also assist the senior analyst in preparing for marketing events and conferences, ensuring that all presentations and materials are well-prepared and impactful. Responsibilities

• Building dynamic industry models consisting of integrated Income Statement/Balance Sheet/Cash Flow Statements
• Writing research reports, including company initiations, industry thought pieces, and earnings recaps
• Sourcing alternative data sets and simplifying and summarizing relevant industry and company information for inclusion in research reports
• Conducting proprietary research evaluating the competitive landscape, and analyzing industry/company news
• Creating and maintaining relationships with industry contacts
• Helping senior analyst prepare for marketing events and conferences

Requirements

• Highly motivated professional with a thirst for knowledge and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills using Excel
• Ability to write clearly and concisely
• Effective oral communication skills
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Ability to function independently while maintaining a collegial and collaborative approach to working with other team members
• 1-5 years of sell-side or buyside equity research experience
• Prior, direct experience in the Healthcare sector is a plus
