About the position

The Equity Research Associate for Life Science & Diagnostic Tools at Bank of America plays a crucial role in analyzing and reporting on companies within the life sciences tools, diagnostics, biopharma services, and animal health sectors. The position requires a blend of financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and strong communication skills to support the research process and contribute to investment decisions. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior analysts and associates, engaging in various research activities, including writing reports, conducting interviews, and building financial models.

Responsibilities

• Write industry and company reports
• Develop doctor/patient/research lab/diagnostic surveys and conduct interviews
• Build financial models to quantitatively analyze company valuations
• Demonstrate industry knowledge in diagnostic regulatory pathways and reimbursement
• Build relationships with contacts at covered companies
• Seek out new, value-added and/or unusual sources of information
• Monitor news flow and highlight stock-impacting updates
• Interact regularly with sales, trading and external clients

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in equity research, buy side experience, or investment banking
• Strong writing and financial modeling skills
• Academic background in a science field (e.g., molecular biology, genomics, cell biology, immunology, biochemistry)
• Basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, and government policy
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
