About the position

Jefferies is seeking an equity research associate to support the Financial Institutions Group covering US Banks. The candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the bank research team by delivering extensive company and industry research, constructing detailed financial and valuation models, and marketing written research recommendations to clients and institutional salespeople. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a highly-ranked bank equity research team in a fast-paced and exciting environment. The responsibilities of the equity research associate will include the creation and maintenance of earnings and valuation models, which are essential for analyzing the financial performance of various banks. The associate will also be tasked with analyzing industry trends and compiling findings to provide insights into the banking sector. Additionally, the production of weekly and monthly written research publications will be a key responsibility, ensuring that clients and internal teams are kept informed of the latest developments and analyses. Building and developing relationships with management teams and industry contacts is another critical aspect of this role. The associate will be expected to communicate stock views and industry themes to institutional investors, trading desks, and other internal constituencies within Jefferies, thereby playing a vital role in the dissemination of research findings and recommendations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Extremely strong work ethic with a focus on teamwork.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Quantitative aptitude and proficiency in Excel.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Intellectual interest in equity markets and macroeconomics.
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, finance, math, or other quantitative fields.
