About the position

The Equity Research Associate position at Truist involves publishing proprietary equity research focused on the restaurant industry, aligning with the firm's banking sectors. The role requires the creation and dissemination of research content that includes stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) aimed at institutional buy-side clients. The associate will conduct thorough due diligence and provide industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions, which includes initiating corporate access resources to institutional equity clients. This may involve organizing non-deal roadshows, conferences, field trips, bus tours, and conference calls to facilitate direct engagement with C-suite executives. In addition to these responsibilities, the associate will conduct independent assessments of the industry and produce company-specific research reports. The role necessitates building financial models at both the industry and company levels, which includes forecasting market share, revenue, earnings per share (EPS), and cash flow. The associate will also be involved in financial and valuation analyses, formulating investment ideas, and drafting research commentary. Collaboration with senior analysts and supervisory analysts is essential throughout the research production and publication processes. The position requires a proactive approach to maintaining relationships with corporate clients at the highest levels, including CEOs, Presidents, and CFOs. Depending on the associate's experience, there may be opportunities to work closely with Capital Markets, sales, and trading teams to leverage research products into the institutional client base.
