About the position

The Equity Research Associate will work closely with senior research professionals to assist in analyzing companies and preparing investment recommendations. This role involves collecting and evaluating financial data, synthesizing research findings, and preparing reports to support investment decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and evaluate statistical and financial data on the economy and financial markets, focusing on common stocks within specific industries.
  • Analyze and synthesize researched data to present trends and ideas related to business opportunities and investment decisions.
  • Formulate and issue opinions and recommendations on securities and companies in one or more industry groups.
  • Prepare reports, opinions, recommendations, and statistical data for investment policy formulation.
  • Answer inquiries from firm personnel regarding individual securities or industry groups.
  • Prepare studies and data for firm publications issued to the public.
  • Prepare and disseminate special studies, models, forecasts, and presentations for the Syndicate or Investment Banking groups.
  • Interview company executives or industry leaders to develop sources of information for analyses.
  • Maintain company databases using spreadsheet and database software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred focus in business, accounting, or finance).
  • Completed no less than 3 senior level accounting and/or financial analysis courses.
  • One year of experience in an analytical or financial role.
  • Corporate financial modeling experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Research skills and the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Clear interest in financial markets.
  • Ability to synthesize data and articulate findings through excellent presentation skills.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $85,000 to $150,000 annually based on experience and education.
  • Eligibility for short-term incentive compensation.
  • Deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
