About the position

The Equity Research role at JPMorgan Chase & Co. involves developing and updating financial models, conducting fundamental research in the Chemicals, Paper, and Packaging industries, and generating detailed valuation frameworks. Responsibilities

  • Develop and update detailed financial models related to the three financial statements of coverage companies.
  • Prepare detailed valuation frameworks for Chemicals businesses using various financial modeling techniques.
  • Gather publicly available data through regulatory filings, Bloomberg Terminal, and third-party consultant reports.
  • Perform core fundamental research on the Chemicals, Paper, and Packaging industries.
  • Conduct research through surveys of industry participants in the global chemicals sector.
  • Stay updated with regulations in the Chemicals sector, including the Inflation Reduction Act and environmental emission norms.
  • Generate ideas and incorporate research findings into in-depth reports related to coverage companies.
  • Analyze and publish reports on monthly commodities trade data from China Customs releases.
  • Respond quickly to actionable news events with timely publication of reports.
  • Participate in conference calls and arrange meetings with investor relations and C-level executives in the Chemicals industry.
  • Work closely with sales force and traders to communicate industry views and address client queries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Economics, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Equity Researcher, Equity Sales Associate, or related occupation.
  • Experience in interpreting and generating financial projections of the three financial statements.
  • Experience in generating valuation frameworks for public equity using financial modeling techniques.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial analysis and stock pitches with institutional investors.
  • Experience in analyzing global and regional commodities data.
  • Knowledge of international policies related to economies and geopolitical dynamics in the industrials sectors.
  • Experience in gathering data through regulatory filings and Bloomberg Terminal.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel features including VBA macros, advanced indexing, and look-ups.
  • Ability to draft research reports incorporating data-driven analysis and actionable ideas.
