About the position

The Equity Research Summer Analyst Internship Program at Barclays offers an immersive experience in the financial services sector, specifically within the Equity Research team. Interns will engage in real projects, gaining hands-on experience and insights into investment decisions while being guided by mentors. This 10-week program is designed for penultimate-year university students, providing them with the opportunity to develop essential skills and knowledge for a successful career in finance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze industry macro trends and company financials
• Build and maintain financial models and industry databases
• Gather, synthesize, and interpret data from publications and other sources
• Assist in writing research reports and notes
• Develop marketing materials for clients and participate in client meetings
• Conduct financial, statistical, and industry analysis to support investment theses
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge
• Research sector trends that may impact company/sector recommendations
• Write daily, weekly, or monthly reports on economies, markets, and/or industries
• Assemble historical financial models using public filings and company conference calls
• Train and mentor junior colleagues

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in any discipline
• Target graduation date within one year of the conclusion of the internship
• GPA of 3.2 or above
• Interest in business and finance
• Resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm, and an entrepreneurial spirit
