About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Equity Research - Vice President - Asset Managers, Brokers, and Exchanges. In this role, you will be part of the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), which delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets, and advisory solutions. This includes a full complement of sales, trading, and research capabilities tailored to corporate, government, and institutional clients. The focus is on understanding and addressing clients' overall financial needs while respecting their total relationship with Wells Fargo. As a Vice President, you will partner with the Senior Analyst covering the Asset Managers, Brokers, and Exchanges sector. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting the fundamental equity research process to provide differentiated industry and stock-specific content. This involves building and maintaining financial estimates, maintaining financial databases, and writing detailed reports on companies under coverage and key industry themes. You will also be expected to develop expertise on companies in the sector, write research reports on key company updates and industry themes, and create and update financial models and databases. Additionally, you will attend company and industry events to cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts. Effective communication of team views on covered companies with internal and external constituents will be crucial. You will need to exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Collaboration with peers, colleagues, and managers will be essential to resolve issues and achieve goals. This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fundamental equity research for the Asset Managers, Brokers, and Exchanges sector.
  • Build and maintain financial estimates and databases.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Securities Research experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Master's Degree or higher in Accounting.
  • 8+ years of experience within the industry or equity research specific sector - Asset Managers, Brokers, and Exchanges.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis.
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
