About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Equity Research - Vice President - Industrials to join our Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of conducting fundamental equity research, focusing on the Industrials sector. Your primary responsibilities will include building and maintaining financial estimates, managing financial databases, and writing comprehensive reports on companies under coverage as well as key industry themes. You will partner closely with the Senior Analyst covering the Industrials sector, ensuring that our research is both insightful and actionable for our clients. As a Vice President, you will be expected to develop deep expertise on the companies within the Industrials sector. This includes writing detailed research reports on significant company updates and industry trends, creating and updating financial models, and attending industry events to cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts. You will also be responsible for communicating the team’s views on covered companies to both internal and external stakeholders, exercising independent judgment while adhering to compliance requirements. This position requires a collaborative approach, as you will work alongside Equity Research colleagues, Equity Sales, Cash Trading, Derivatives, and Wealth Management teams. You will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The role is subject to FINRA background screening requirements, and successful candidates must meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including the completion of necessary registrations within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fundamental equity research for the Industrials sector.
  • Build and maintain financial estimates and databases.
  • Write research reports on companies under coverage and key industry themes.
  • Develop expertise on companies in the Industrials sector.
  • Attend company and industry events to cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts.
  • Communicate team views on covered companies with internal and external constituents.
  • Exercise independent judgment while understanding function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Securities Trading experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • BS/BA or higher in a relevant field.
  • Direct experience within the equity research industry, specifically in the Industrials sector.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency in modeling.
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting principles in the capital markets industry.
  • Familiarity with investment tools such as Bloomberg and FactSet applications.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
