About the position
The Emergency Room Attendant I position at Huntsville Hospital Health System is a part-time role that operates during the night shift. Responsibilities
- Perform basic patient care with minimal supervision and within established policies on all age groups
- Accurately check and record vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to licensed staff
- Perform venipuncture and collect other specimens per policy
- Promptly answer call lights and provide necessary assistance in a timely manner
- Report patient changes, problems, complaints or requests to appropriate personnel
- Assist in the maintenance of equipment and stocking of supplies
- Be aware of departmental throughput goals and actively participate in meeting these goals
- Accurately follow direction of licensed staff with minimal guidance needed
Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- BLS certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly
