The Emergency Room Attendant I position at Huntsville Hospital Health System is a part-time role that operates during the night shift. Responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient care with minimal supervision and within established policies on all age groups
  • Accurately check and record vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to licensed staff
  • Perform venipuncture and collect other specimens per policy
  • Promptly answer call lights and provide necessary assistance in a timely manner
  • Report patient changes, problems, complaints or requests to appropriate personnel
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment and stocking of supplies
  • Be aware of departmental throughput goals and actively participate in meeting these goals
  • Accurately follow direction of licensed staff with minimal guidance needed

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • BLS certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly

Nice-to-haves

  • No previous experience required, but preferred
