About the position

The position is for a qualified ER/Trauma Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Pediatric care at a busy Pediatric ER department in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The role involves working in a high-acuity environment, providing care to patients ranging from newborns to 17 years old. The department operates 24/7 and handles an average of 65 patients daily, with a focus on pediatric trauma cases. The position is for a duration of 13 weeks with the possibility of extensions, starting on November 26, 2024.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to pediatric patients in the ER setting.
• Conduct strong pediatric assessments and perform IV and lab draw skills.
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the EPIC EMR system.
• Participate in safety and compliance training as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric or ER nursing with a focus on pediatric patient population.
• Experience with EPIC EMR system is required.
• Strong pediatric assessment skills are necessary.
• Proficient in IV and lab draw skills.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications are mandatory.
• Compact or Oklahoma state RN license is required.
