About the position

The ERA/EFT Enrollment Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the enrollment process for electronic remittance advice (ERA) and electronic funds transfer (EFT) within a healthcare setting. This position is responsible for ensuring successful implementation of enrollment engagements, maintaining compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to providers. The specialist will also manage data, resolve issues, and generate reports to support the revenue cycle management process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage enrollment engagements from EOB to ERA clearinghouse and paper check to ACH/EFT processing, ensuring successful implementation.
  • Collect, verify, and maintain necessary documentation for enrollment, including provider agreements and banking information.
  • Serve as a point of contact for providers regarding ERA/EFT enrollment inquiries and issues, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain and update enrollment databases, ensuring all records are accurate and compliant with regulations.
  • Address and resolve enrollment issues, discrepancies, or denials by liaising with insurance payers and internal teams.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations related to electronic payments and remittances.
  • Generate reports on enrollment status, trends, and issues for management review.
  • Set up and manage user access to insurance portals, ensuring staff can efficiently navigate and utilize the platforms.
  • Provide training and support to users on how to access and use insurance portals effectively.
  • Assist users with technical issues related to portal access, including login problems and functionality inquiries.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
  • ERA and EFT enrollment experience is a must; previous experience in healthcare billing, cash posting, coding is desired.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and payer requirements related to electronic transactions.
