About the position

Cargill is seeking an ERP Automation Engineer to join our agile engineering team, where you will play a crucial role in the design and development of both new and existing digital solutions within our digital portfolio. This position is integral to our mission of nourishing the world in a safe, responsible, and sustainable manner. As an ERP Automation Engineer, you will be tasked with discovering and delivering solutions to moderately complex problems that will enable the company's digital future. Your expertise in software engineering and security practices will be essential in ensuring that the solutions we develop are scalable, resilient, and robust. In this role, you will apply software engineering patterns and principles to design, develop, test, integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot moderately complex software solutions. You will also be responsible for incorporating security practices into newly developed and maintained applications. Collaboration is key, as you will partner with your team to adopt agile philosophies, participate in agile ceremonies, and identify opportunities for improvement. Your contributions will include participating in peer code review sessions, both as a submitter and reviewer, to ensure the quality of the code produced. Additionally, you will be expected to apply development and operation engineering principles to continuously integrate, test, and deploy the developed code. Your involvement in the engineering community will be vital, as you will maintain and share relevant technical approaches and modern skills. You will independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to the appropriate staff when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Apply software engineering patterns and principles to design, develop, test, integrate, maintain and troubleshoot moderately complex software solutions.
  • Incorporate security practices in newly developed and maintained applications.
  • Partner with the team to adopt agile philosophies and participate in agile ceremonies.
  • Identify improvement opportunities within the team.
  • Participate in peer code review sessions to ensure code quality.
  • Incorporate the company's engineering and development practices within software development life cycle processes.
  • Apply development and operation engineering principles to continuously integrate, test and deploy developed code.
  • Maintain and share relevant technical approaches and modern skills within the engineering community.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Confirmed experience building front end or back end of applications based on popular design patterns.
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience.
  • Experience in Process Automation technologies (Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Flow).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the area of ERP basis.
  • Code Development (ABAP, HTML, Python, Java, etc.).
  • Experience with Design Thinking.
