About the position

GAF is seeking an ERP Senior Business Analyst to join the FP&A team, responsible for eliciting business needs, performing detailed analysis and documentation, modeling processes, evaluating impacts, prioritizing business requests, and partnering with project teams to ensure the successful delivery and sustainment of a SAC Planning solution that supports GAF FP&A functions. This role involves solving complex business problems through business process redesign and cloud computing technologies, engaging with stakeholders to document requirements, and assessing current processes to develop new workflows. The analyst will consult with the data engineering team and functional unit owners to document a gap analysis of capabilities and requirements against technology, applying business process re-engineering methodologies for systems modernization. The ERP Senior Business Analyst will develop new standard operating procedures aligned with business requirements and maintain efficient planning models along with reporting to support GAF's business planning process. This includes preparing and presenting findings, recommendations, and new operating models in consultation with the business team. The analyst will create methodologies to measure process performance against established metrics and will be responsible for completing assignments while working on 1-3 projects concurrently. Understanding business needs and requests, identifying solutions, gathering information, and translating these needs into documented artifacts that are understandable to both business and IT personnel is crucial. The role also involves analyzing processes and system issues, turning them into actionable system changes that improve operational efficiency and overall performance. Additionally, the analyst will identify testing scenarios, document test plans, and support the testing of deliverables by the technical and functional teams. They will review deliverables to ensure they meet business requirements and demonstrate the capability of the deliverables while consuming and acting on feedback. Collaboration with project teams and business partners during project planning, incremental software delivery reviews, and User Acceptance Testing is essential to ensure that the software is delivered based on specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex business problems utilizing business process redesign and cloud computing technologies.
  • Engage with stakeholders to document requirements and assess AS-IS processes and develop new processes and/or business flows.
  • Consult with data engineering team and functional unit owners and document a gap analysis of capabilities, requirements and needs against technology.
  • Apply business process re-engineering methodologies for systems modernization.
  • Develop new standard operating procedures documentation aligned with business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain efficient planning models along with reporting to support GAF's business planning process.
  • Prepare and present findings, recommendations, new operating models, and new workflows in consultation with the business team.
  • Create methodology to measure process performance against established metrics.
  • Complete assignments with the ability to work on 1-3 projects.
  • Understand business needs and requests, identifying solutions, gathering information, and translating business needs into documented artifacts that are understandable to business and IT personnel alike.

  • Collaborate with project teams and business partners during project planning, incremental software delivery reviews, and User Acceptance testing to ensure the software has been delivered based on the specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related majors.
  • 10+ years of IT experience; preferably in enterprise Business-to-Business durable goods, construction, or building materials manufacturing.
  • 3+ years experience with advanced planning (FP&A) systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with implementation and transformation projects using cube technology such as SAC Planning, Anaplan, Hyperion, OneStream etc.
  • Experience with the Finance process in SAP.
  • Strong implementation and support experience with SAC Planning and data integration needs from SAP and other sources.
  • Design and developing integrated business solutions that interact between multiple enterprise platforms and applications, both on-premises, CSP's and SaaS providers.
  • Prior experience providing design and configuration of integration solutions in support of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and planning systems.
  • General knowledge of Agile and SDLC software development practices and technical documentation (requirements, functional specifications, test plans, etc.).
  • Strong strategic business acumen and understanding of organizational strategy and ability to design IT systems to deliver that strategy.
  • Strong ability to define multiple solution options to business problems.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong ability to understand the long-term ('big picture') and short-term perspectives of situations.
