About the position

The ERP Software Developer is a mid-level technical role responsible for software development in support of the Banner ERP system and related applications. This position involves designing, programming, testing, and providing technical support for new and existing applications, as well as integrating them with the Banner system. The Developer collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure effective functionality and improvements in business processes, reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide software development efforts in support of the Banner ERP system and additional applications.
  • Design, program, test, and support new applications and enhancements of existing applications.
  • Provide technical support for the Banner ERP system and other applications as needed.
  • Install and configure new applications and integrate them with Banner or other existing applications.
  • Consult and advise campus leadership on software functionality and improvements in business processes.
  • Coordinate with senior staff, ERP analysts, and functional office staff for installations and upgrades.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field with one year of progressive related experience, or a bachelor's degree with two years of related experience.
  • Expertise in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements collection, design, testing, and deployment.
  • Technical troubleshooting knowledge and proficiency in Banner and Oracle databases.
  • Expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including creating complex stored procedures and views.
  • Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other components of modern web applications.
  • Practical understanding of data mapping and transformation.
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong customer service skills and a proactive work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of higher education administrative processes.
  • Experience in managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in training and mentoring technical staff or power users.
