About the position

The Senior Field Engineer position is a critical role that involves performing complex troubleshooting, specialized tests, inspections, and appraisals on electrical apparatus and electrical systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to support a region of service engineers effectively. The role is mentally demanding, necessitating a strong capacity for concentration and the ability to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously. As a Senior Field Engineer, you will operate with little or no direct supervision, showcasing your ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety in all tasks performed. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems, including UPS/Battery systems and various types of power metering. You will lead large projects that require specialized skills, such as conducting UPS acceptance tests, commissioning larger DC systems, and supervising "turnkey" projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing tests and inspections in new areas of field services, ensuring that all work meets recognized industry and international standards, as well as local jurisdiction requirements. You will also be tasked with writing complete and detailed reports promptly at the end of each project, utilizing computer systems to accurately process job billing. Additionally, you may perform complex analysis and evaluative tasks necessary for equipment labeling projects. Maintaining strong client relationships is essential, as you will perform all functions related to written job proposals, including estimating man-hours and expenses, and developing scope and pricing. Your role will involve active client interface and business development activities, where you will give effective technical presentations and may be required to write publishable articles. Mentoring and training other Field Service Engineers in the region will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities, ensuring that knowledge and skills are effectively shared within the team.
