About the position

The ERSEA Supervisor position is a supervisory role responsible for overseeing the Family Advocates within the ERSEA service area, which includes Family Services. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the services provided to families are effective and compliant with all relevant regulations. The supervisor will oversee the activities of employees responsible for ERSEA and Family Services, ensuring that applications, parent interviews, and the waitlisting process are completed efficiently. The supervisor will also monitor eligibility applications and attendance for programs, ensuring that families receive timely notifications regarding child health requirements, including immunizations and physicals. In addition to overseeing staff, the ERSEA Supervisor will provide case management support to staff, helping them identify the needs and goals of families. The supervisor will be responsible for scheduling and facilitating Weekly Caseload Reviews, ensuring that follow-ups are completed in accordance with established procedures. The role also involves preparing and presenting family outcome data during Outcome Summits, as well as supporting the ERSEA Manager in the hiring process and developing onboarding training plans for new Family Advocates. The supervisor will ensure that new team members receive appropriate training within their first 30 days of hire and will conduct performance evaluations for subordinates at least annually. The role requires maintaining accurate staff files and ensuring that all required training is completed annually. The ERSEA Supervisor will collaborate with ERSEA leadership to develop and implement an annual training plan, participate in parent events, and work with center staff to promote family success stories. This position requires a commitment to confidentiality and effective communication with coworkers and outside contacts to enhance the operation of the Head Start/Early Head Start program.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise the activities of employees responsible for ERSEA and Family Services.
  • Support the completion of applications, parent interviews, and the waitlisting process.
  • Monitor eligibility applications, waitlist regularly, and attendance for programs.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document Weekly Caseload Reviews with staff in accordance with procedures.
  • Provide case management to support staff in identifying needs and goals of families when needed.
  • Monitor compliance with all child health requirements and ensure notifications are sent to families.
  • Complete eligibility applications for staff, their relatives, and friends.
  • Monitor documentation of all aspects of the case management process in ChildPlus.net.
  • Prepare and present family outcome data during Outcome Summits.
  • Support ERSEA Manager in the hiring process and develop onboarding training plans for new Family Advocates.
  • Ensure new team members receive employee training and follow-up within the first 30 days of hire.
  • Complete and present performance evaluations with subordinates as needed.
  • Assure accuracy and approve subordinates' time-cards and submit documentation to HR and Finance.
  • Update all staff files on ChildPlus and ensure DCF and required training is completed annually.
  • Disseminate local, state, federal, and agency information to subordinates as needed.
  • Collaborate with ERSEA leadership to develop and implement the annual training plan.
  • Support subordinates in coordinating and participating in Parent Family and Community Engagement Experiences.
  • Collaborate with Family Advocate and Family Services Coordinator to ensure parent engagement activities occur monthly.
  • Submit reports, documents, and files as directed and meet monthly with the ERSEA Manager to discuss outcomes.
  • Attend and actively participate in training programs, staff meetings, and other meetings/training.
  • Act as an advocate and role model for Head Start/Early Head Start families.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and agency information.
  • Maintain effective working interaction with coworkers and outside contacts.
  • Organize and prioritize all assignments as directed.
  • Participate in regular safety, storm, and fire drills.
  • Follow federal, state, and local regulations/laws, including Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Participate in community activities that enhance Head Start/Early Head Start programs.
  • Participate in ongoing monitoring, Community Assessment, and Self-Assessment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Social Services, Sociology, Human Services, Humanities, Psychology, or a related field with Family Development Credential, Social Work or Human Services Credential/Certificate.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience required; 3 years preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Background checks/clearance for working with children.
  • First Aid and CPR certified.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in ERSEA within 1 year of hire date and maintain annually thereafter.
  • Completion of Head Start/Early Head Start required certification training hours within eighteen months of hire.
  • Completion of the mandated 55 hours of Florida DCF Child Care Training as outlined in the Family Advocate Career Advancement Criteria.
