About the position

The ES Lead Application Engineer is responsible for overseeing the Application Engineering team, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery. This role involves creating control databases, graphic screens, and setting up control systems based on project specifications. The engineer will perform field startup, system commissioning, and provide both on-site and remote technical support to team members and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains standards for applications databases and processes
  • Creates programming logic using flow diagrams, sequences of operation, panel layouts, termination details, and project specifications or sales proposals
  • Programs control applications using various software tools to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices
  • Performs job site system checkout, commissioning, and testing of control applications to verify proper operation according to project specifications
  • Develops system graphic displays according to project specifications or sales proposals
  • Provides on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers
  • Acts as the technical liaison between owner/construction managers
  • Delivers on-site customer operator training on the use of the installed system
  • Performs system analysis and diagnostics, determining corrective actions to restore systems to proper operating condition
  • Coordinates system installation with installing contractors at job sites as required
  • Performs final walkthrough with owner and construction manager to ensure all punch list items are complete and job received signoff of substantial completion

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in HVAC, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of six years related industry experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers
  • Advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents
  • Proficient in programming tools and communication networks, including Niagara
  • Proficient with controls and HVAC systems and their terminology

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced financial analysis
  • Knowledge of BAS drawings and their integration with programming
