About the position

The ESG Audit and Controls Specialist at Meta is responsible for overseeing ESG-specific processes and controls, ensuring compliance with data governance policies, and maintaining a robust internal controls environment for ESG reporting. This role involves collaboration with various teams to integrate ESG reporting into existing financial processes and to coordinate with auditors for regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of implementation and assurance readiness plans for ESG reporting-related initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to ESG data governance policies and maintain a strong internal controls environment across the company and within the ESG group.
• Provide guidance to ESG subject matter expert teams on internal control documentation.
• Integrate ESG reporting processes into existing financial close timelines.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external auditors for ESG regulatory reporting oversight.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant auditing experience.
• Working knowledge of ESG and non-financial reporting practices, including SEC, CSRD, and other relevant frameworks.
• Proven U.S. GAAP technical accounting and SEC reporting knowledge, including SOX regulations and COSO.
• Interest in ESG with an understanding of key scientific, regulatory, and market developments.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CIA certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in internal controls, audit, or accounting, preferably with Big 4 public accounting and public company experience.
