About the position

The ESG Data Analyst position at Ahold Delhaize USA focuses on supporting the Health and Sustainability Team in delivering an organizational sustainability strategy. The role involves developing and executing strategic initiatives, building analytical tools, and collaborating with brand leadership to enhance performance and meet sustainability targets. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring three in-person days and two remote days, and is aimed at individuals who thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-functionally help shape successful business plans and strategic decisions through the assessment of each brand's current performance and intervention opportunities.
  • Develop strategic recommendations for Ahold Delhaize USA's brands, often developing supporting analytics for presentations and working with brand leadership to navigate the marketplace in meeting targets.
  • Build analytical tools to provide greater business insights and increase the efficiency of data capture, cleanse, and reporting.
  • Lead change management conversations on performance, targets, interventions, definitions, and reporting.
  • Train other team members on software (i.e., Alteryx) as necessary for ongoing stability in the data environment.
  • Review, design, and recommend opportunities for improvement in the ESG Data Domain to support decisions on software, data configurations, and compendium business process.
  • Participate in key team discussions and share analysis, viewpoints, and rationale in the development of communications to Ahold Delhaize Global and auditors.
  • Assist with various ad hoc analysis, reporting, and presentation development, often in partnership with our brands, US- and National Leadership, and third parties.
  • Work with key stakeholders - often the US Leadership Team - and cross-functional departments on high-value initiatives and strategies, creating business cases, financial models, and key analytics in support of critical work.
  • Assist the Strategy Lead in developing growth and deployment strategies both with existing markets and within new geographies for both our brick and mortar and eCommerce businesses.
  • Create presentations to help drive work forward and gain alignment on critical issues which often will require the art of storytelling within presentations.
  • Help drive annual strategic planning and integrated business planning process through analysis and research.
  • Conduct and/or maintain performance scorecards on key strategic initiatives across the organization as well as strategic competitive analysis and trends reporting, sharing insights to Brands and Leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 to 8 years of corporate strategy, process execution in grocery retail industry and/or consulting industry preferred.
  • Ability to understand new concepts quickly and work in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
  • Proven ability to drive organization change based on analysis and recommendations, possessing the ability to quickly analyze data, draw and present conclusions with actionable steps and measure final outcome.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, executives, and third parties.
  • Ability to lead without authority.
  • Ability to work within tight timelines, deadlines, and on multiple projects.
  • Works well independently in ambiguous situations and with minimal supervision when required.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and project-based work, able to bring focus and structure to unique, high-value problems.
  • Creative, structured, and objective problem solver, both conceptually and analytically.
  • Collaborative and people-oriented, and comfortable leading without authority.
  • Dynamic, clear thinker and presenter who can work well with all levels of an organization, including the US Leadership Team.
  • Ready to work hard in a fun environment to create tangible change.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Excel.
