About the position

The ESG Data Specialist will serve to support the organization's rapidly evolving ESG data needs. The candidate will serve as the organization's primary lead in ESG data collection efforts, leading data-focused projects, and interfacing across various functions. The role is highly collaborative, working with our various teams to collect relevant ESG data, maintain data storage, assess database design, and gather, organize, and interpret relevant statistical information. The responsibilities include managing all aspects of the ESG data collection process, which involves setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring, expediting, summarizing, and communicating progress at regular intervals to ensure the organization meets its annual ESG reporting deadlines. The specialist will identify and address limitations of ESG data, aggregate ESG data as necessary to support the organization's sustainability reporting, and understand the evolving ESG data needs, evaluating and recommending complementary data sets. Additionally, the role requires analyzing existing ESG data sources and methodologies for accuracy, contributing to the development of dashboards or Power BI's to improve ESG process integration, and recommending and supporting the implementation of data solutions for evolving external reporting needs, including regulatory requirements. The specialist will ensure that data collection, analysis, and reporting projects are completed on time and within estimated costs, develop and maintain associated documentation and communications, and gather, organize, and interpret statistical data from the database to provide reports to upper management. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the ESG data collection process including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience required.
  • At least three years in Data Processing, with at least two years of experience with database management systems required.
  • Passion for sustainability issues and corporate responsibility.
  • Experience in the nuances of specific ESG data sets, data structure and quality of ESG ratings, scores and other data sets is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • General experience utilizing business intelligence platforms and data visualization, such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of computer languages used within database.
  • Understanding of database design and construction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the nuances of specific ESG data sets, data structure and quality of ESG ratings, scores and other data sets is preferred.
