About the position

The ESG Fundamental Research Analyst will support Voya Investment Management by integrating ESG information into investment processes. This role involves analyzing ESG factors, maintaining the ESG materiality matrix, and serving as a subject matter expert on ESG regulations and trends. The analyst will collaborate with investment teams to enhance their understanding of ESG considerations and contribute to the development of proprietary ESG scores.

Responsibilities

• Engage with investment teams to integrate ESG factors into investment processes.
• Analyze ESG data, including climate and clean energy considerations, to support proprietary ESG scores.
• Maintain and update the ESG materiality matrix and sector research annually.
• Provide deep-dive analysis of ESG considerations for higher-risk companies.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on global ESG regulatory requirements and provide training to investment teams.
• Share research notes and insights on ESG topics and trends with investment teams weekly.
• Monitor and analyze ESG controversies, providing real-time feedback to investment teams.
• Collaborate with the Active Ownership team to prioritize ESG issues in corporate engagements.
• Lead the completion of ESG information in RFPs and external surveys.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in fundamental equity/credit and/or ESG research in the Investment Management industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Sustainability/Sustainable Finance, or related field.
• Knowledge of global ESG regulations and their impact on ESG integration.
• Understanding of equity, fixed income, multi-asset, and private investment processes.
• Experience analyzing ESG factors and risks.
• Familiarity with ESG third-party data sources.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Ability to build consensus and influence outcomes.

Nice-to-haves
