As an ESGS Network Engineer III, you will be responsible for executing network operations, which include the configuration and analysis of customer circuits across all SATCOM teleports and gateways. You will perform real-time circuit redesign to restore customer connectivity during both scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actions. This role requires direct interaction with internal and external customers, SATCOM stakeholders, and various engineering tiers to ensure maximum network availability, thereby minimizing or eliminating any mission and operational impacts. Your responsibilities will also encompass a variety of change management tasks, including hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI management. You will proactively monitor network alarms using platform-specific network management tools and utilize incident management applications to document all aspects of reported outages, isolations, escalations, and resolutions throughout the lifecycle of service-impacting network incidents. Additionally, you will assess, identify, and recommend resolutions to various network incidents and deficiencies, leveraging your knowledge of routers, switches, crypto devices, and associated modems such as CISCO, Juniper, iDirect, EBEM, ESEM, and MPM1000.

Responsibilities

  • Execute network operations including configuration and analysis of customer circuits across all SATCOM teleports and gateways.
  • Perform real-time circuit redesign to restore customer connectivity during outages and maintenance actions.
  • Work directly with internal and external customers and SATCOM stakeholders to ensure maximum network availability.
  • Perform change management tasks including hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI management.
  • Proactively monitor network alarms across platform-specific network management tools.
  • Utilize incident management applications to document outages, isolations, escalations, and resolutions during network incidents.
  • Assess, identify, and recommend resolutions to network incidents and deficiencies leveraging knowledge in routers, switches, and crypto devices.

Requirements

  • Hold DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start date.
  • Able to work in a 24x7 shift work environment.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Requires general understanding of SATCOM and networking principles.
  • Requires a BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and/or experience).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with deployed SATCOM terminals.
  • Circuit actions experience.
  • Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience.
  • Experience with MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, TEAMs).
  • Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, and performance management.
